The President and the RH Bill

I watched Jessic Soho's interview with PNoy (our president) last night. 100 days are over since he was installed as President, no big change yet in the country except for the dollar exchange rate that keeps on going down.

His first 100 days has been cloaked with catastrophe and incidents, he has made several decisions that brought the ire of  several groups but the one thing I like about him is that he's keeping his stand. I can imagine how hard it is to be a President of the country. It's always damn if you do and damn if you don't.

Lately, the Catholic church has been calling him to withdrew his support for the RH Bill -known as the Reproductive Health Bill or Responsible Parenthood. He said he is pro life and he is not supporting abortion at all but still it was not a popular decision to church people. Well, opinions of Christians varies also for this topic but I do believe that parents should be responsible enough to give at least a decent life to their children and they should be educated.  Last night, he mentioned that a lady from a very poor urban community just gave birth to her 16th child, how would they give the children better life? The mom said they do not know anything about birth control.

She should have learned it in school, well if she did go to school but still..sex education is not part of the school curriculum here, where the basic about sex and pregnancy should be taught to children. The pros and cons of having so many children, the many ways of birth control, (and not just about male enhancement product,  the different disease they  might get and of course I still strongly believe that children should be taught that sex is only for married couples and that pre- marital sex is not to be encourage.

Well, that is just my opinion. To each his own.
