Weddings :)

Just before the year ends, there were talks and pictures of engagement rings at my facebook and instagram pages. Two famous celebrities got engaged and a friend (ex-girlfirend of my brother in law) is also now engaged :) Which somehow made me feel sad because I so like her and I was hoping that someday soon she will reconcile with the brother in law. But of course on the other hand, I was happy too because engagements and weddings are happy occasions and it always excites me.

Made me think of my own wedding and my own engagement ring :)

one of my fave photos on our wedding day

Made me think of my friends wedding also to which I was part of :) Those are special too!

Carmel and Andrew's wedding
Jemay and Ramon's wedding
Jerlyn and Lester's wedding

Jiji and Regie's wedding (such a happy pic!)

J-mie and Von's wedding

Grace and Freddie but I was not at the picture :)

Can't find a picture of Michelle and Dax and Tata and Neil but will add them up as soon as I found one. All of them are special weddings I will forever treasure in my heart :)

Wedding Souvenir

I attended a wedding of a relative over the weekend to which we needed to travel for four hours from here to my home in the province and then roughly forty five minutes to the wedding venue. It's all because I love my Tatay (dad) and that he promised his cousin that we we will all go home for the wedding and so we did.

And as a thank you gift, we were given this wedding favor ( that's what I got for my almost nine hours travel to and from the city) but I dare not complain because the groom is my cousin :). They do have different gifts for principal sponsors (which numbered to 50 plus!!! It was such a big wedding!) Honestly, I can write a lot of comments about that wedding but not now. I do not have the luxury of time now but one thing I really wish was they should have asked help from a professional wedding coordinator. It must have been different and maybe they could have been given some real good advice and tips such as groomsmen gift ideas. Anyways, congratulations to the newly wed and may your married life be blessed ! PS. Right after that wedding we went straight to a nearby river and swam our hearts out! Will post pictures soon!

This...

explains why I haven't posted for the last 11 days. I was busy (not with finding cheap game accessories) but with the wedding preparation which finally happened yesterday. So happy and relieved, now I can move on to other events. December is one of the busiest month ever!

I've got some good news :) several guests at the wedding said that I lost weight! been trying to lessen my carbo intake for a month already and I think that is working! But I'm afraid I will need more discipline this December as it is a feast month considering the many Christmas parties and happenings. Wish me the best!

Oh..it's the first day of December..how's your Christmas list?

My DIY Wedding Canopy

Here's the finish product of the DIY Wedding Canopy me and my husband painstakingly made for a friend's wedding. It's our first time and I am quite satisfied from the result. I know we can do much better next time, see for your self how we compared from my inspirations of wedding canopies to the real thing.

The aisle was also my idea :) local banig (mat) instead of red carpet
Side view of the canopy (not perfect but I think we did great..hehe!)

I'm still waiting for the official photos and I hope there is at least one good shot of the canopy there :)

Wedding.Tired.Careers

To say that I was busy the past few days is an overstatement because I was extremely busy. My last week's schedule was super hectic and last Friday my body started to feel it, I woke up with my head spinning and was throwing up but because I have a wedding the next day I refused to stay down and keep on moving.

Yesterday at the wedding, again tired is an understatement but I am happy of the result (not perfectly happy but satisfied) of the wedding. I love the table set up because it's how we (me & the bride) pictured it to be.

I wish again for the nth time to have a shift in career and pursue event coordination instead. At least if that happens it's not like I shifted from mechanical engineering careers to even coordination because my job now is somehow related with that field.

Back to the wedding yesterday, remember the canopy? It was far from being perfect but I tell you it turned out simple and beautiful. The bride loved it and that's what matters most.

Garden Wedding on Saturday

A friend is getting hitched on Saturday. It’s a garden wedding happening in the middle of the city and I am hoping it would be beautiful and near perfect. (because no wedding is perfect) I’m quite tense though because I am the wedding coordinator and the pressure I put my self to make it beautiful is steep. I admit I am so hard on my self in events like this. As much as possible I don’t want the bride and groom to worry about anything on their wedding day.

I was with them even on day one of their planning and preparation. We started scouting wedding venues early last year, trying to look for a not so expensive but nice event venue which is not easy. We visited several hotels and ask for their wedding packages but we found hem, all too pricey and yet not too grand, none compared to wedding packages in vegas of course.

We roamed all over the city and the bride fell in love with the Paco Park in Manila so the wedding will be there. It’s quiet and it is not that expensive plus you can bring your own caterer which is a major thing for the bride and groom.

The DIY wedding canopy I posted weeks ago will be used there as well.

I love weddings and I wish to do more weddings for the coming year. I love reading about new wedding ideas and I love doing them.

Biggest DIY-Wedding Canopy

I'm attempting my biggest DIY (do it your self)so far for a wedding next month, I am making a bamboo wedding canopy -instead of gazebos we usually see on garden wedding, we're trying out a bamboo canopy that is usually being used on beach wedding.

Thank God for internet. All the how to's are there, how to get rid of pimples, how to make a ribbon bow and yes- how to make a wedding canopy. I saw a lot of pictures and I am using them as inspirations and I hope I can at least make it beautiful. Crossing my fingers.

We've already started making the four poles a while ago, tomorrow, I will do the mock up with the white linens. Wish me all the best!

here are the pictures I saw from google :) the first one is from secretgardenweddings.com.au and the second one is from hemingway designs.

I'll post picture of my bamboo canopy right after the wedding :)

Personalized wedding photo frames

Oh how I would love to have these personalized photo frames :) That would be so perfect for the collections I am doing for the picture wall in my own house someday.

Images are from perfectcreations.com.

I was thinking of a gift for a friend that is getting married on April and I am particularly looking for engraved wedding presents because I am a sucker for personalized gifts. And if I am the recipient of those gifts I would absolutely love it!!

Now let me check if they ship worldwide and let me check the price too!!

Invitatations

Now that the husband knows a lot about photoshop, he is now more confident to create designs for invitations. I still believe that invitation is a must in every party. Be it a birthday, baptismal or wedding party. I even love to make one baby shower invitations someday. Hoping one I will make is for my own baby shower though.

We’ve actually created some designs for birthdays, we designed our own wedding invites and I helped two of my friends with their wedding invitation concept. It only mean one thing, my love for details in parties!

For inspiration on some invitations, take a look at the designs from invitationconsultant.com. They are all nice!
